2000-01 Massachusetts Celtic Pride
- Point Guards: K. Anderson, J, Williams: Anderson is one of those scoring PG's in the league. He
doesn't have too many assists for a typical PG but he does have decent defense. Which puts
him in the average/above average range. Anderson's backup is Jason (white chocolate) Williams.
Williams is not afraid to chuck up 30-40 foot shoots and loves to turn the ball over trying
to perform a behind the back pass. With the way Massachusetts has played the past 2 years,
his play is a welcome sign of relief to diehard celtic pride fans. Rating:
6.0/10.0
- Shooting Guards: M. Dickerson, I. Rider: Dickerson and Rider will welcome every opportunity to shoot the
rock. This is of course if Rider isn't suspended or kick off the team by all-star break.
These 2 guys lead the team in scoring and their defense is less to be desired. They are
typical SG's. Rating 6.0/10.0
- Small Forwards: Now Hiring: The only person with any significant
playing time at the SF position is Nesby. And with Nesby shooting .398 from the field and his defense pretty mediocre, one can
hope Greg has plans to play PF's here. Match up problems maybe a factor here.
Rating 2.0/10.0
- Power Forwards: A. Henderson, R. Rogers: Here are a couple of studs. Shooting percentage is up, minutes
are up and defense isn't bad either. These guys are definitely blue collar workers. They will
keep this team competitive throughout the season. Rating
7.0/10.0
- Centers: A. Davis, 5 others: Here we have PF's who play C. The only legit C is Ostertag. Davis is
strong defensively but his lack of intimidation may cost this team. Ostertag is valuable.
Rating 6.0/10.0
- Bench: Greg did a nice job of getting rid of dead weight last year. The chemistry of the
team seems so much better. (Even with Rider). The problem is at the SF position. Until
Massachusetts gets a legit SF, this team will be hurting. The other positions are pretty
well represented. Rating 6.5/10.0
- Management: Greg has proven to be a very active owner. He makes many trades (some good,
some bad). He has become a better manager by the game and seems to be ready to turn the corner
with this team. Trading their #1 pick 2 years in a row really hurt this team. But I see the
light at the end of the tunnel...Let hope its not a train! Rating:
8.5/10.0
- Total rating: 42.0/70.0
- Predicted Record and Finish: 25-47, 4th Place
