2000-01 McDonald Blue Ballers
- Point Guards: J. Kidd, 4 others: Kidd is perfect for this team of all-stars. He doesn't shoot too much
and he has 678 assists. Kidds defense is among the best. There are 4 others that can play
point, but this is Kidds team. Rating:
7.5/10.0
- Shooting Guards: A. Iverson, D. Anderson: Iverson should be able to compete for MVP of the league. He
is the go-to man on a team of go-to players. Defensively, he's not bad either. Anderson is
only there to make sure Iverson has a towel and some refreshments. But if need be, Anderson
can play a little ball too. Rating 9.0/10.0
- Small Forwards: S. Pippen, B. Owens: Future hall of famer Pippen might have lost a step on defense. But
that will only give him less votes for the best defensive SF in the game. His numbers are
pretty steady but not spectacular. Some can say he is the perfect fit for this team. Owens
is a seasoned veteran but still has allot to learn about defense and shot selection.
Rating 7.0/10.0
- Power Forwards: T. Duncan, P. Brown: When it was first announced that McDonald would be acquiring the
services of Mr. Fundamental. The Vegas odds for McDonald winning the championship went
off the chart. Duncan is superior in every category. He is a role model to kids. And he will
even do chores around the house for you. When Duncan leaves the floor, Brown (aka Enforcer)
will step in and cause some havoc with his 600 rebounds and stingy defense. And then they
have others to back them up. These are the best combination of PF's in the game.
Rating 9.5/10.0
- Centers: A. Sabonis, any of the above PFs: This is where McDonald may get hurt. There is nothing
wrong with Sabonis stat wise. But Sabonis may be injury prone and with only 1688 minutes, James
may need to borrow one of his PF studs to help out. The trade for Duncan will make its
effect here. But most owners have to give something to get something. Rating
6.0/10.0
- Bench: James gave up allot of bodies to get Duncan. James has again chosen the "rookie"
route in drafting. Surprising enough, he is at least 3 deep in every position at any
time. With his starting being all-stars, the only thing he needs from his bench is minutes.
Rating 7.0/10.0
- Management: James is an original GLBA owner. He is online very often and is not afraid to
voice his opinion. He has proven to be very knowledgeable about the game and his ideas and
suggestions has helped form the GLBA to what it is today. Not withstanding the
unfortunate situation that happened last year during the championship, we can expect to see McDonald
in the Finals and maybe even win the whole thing this year. Rating:
9.0/10.0
- Total rating: 55.0/70.0
- Predicted Record and Finish: 52-20, 1st Place
