2000-01 North Raleigh Winesippers
- Point Guards: L. Hunter, M. Jackson: Hunter may have the
lowest assists for a starting PG (327). His shooting is about average for
the rest of the PG's in the league. He is not afraid to put up a 3 and he
actually shoots better from the 3 than any where on the floor. Hunter is
fantastic defensively. On the other hand, Jackson is an excellent PG. He has
650 assists to back it up. Major draw back with Jackson is that he plays
defense like a broken barn door. Rating:
7.0/10.0
- Shooting Guards: B. Barry, C. Mills: Not a glamour position
on this team, but the numbers are pretty good. Barry is surprisingly
accurate on his shots. Mills will be only available 649 minutes, which leads
to believe Shane has other plans at SG. Rating 5.0/10.0
- Small Forwards: B. Russell, W. Williams: Russell is a very
good SF. He lost a step defensively but has enough rebounds and steals to
make up for it. He leads this team with 914 shots. And other than Mills, he
leads this team in scoring. Williams is a very respectable sub. Not much to
talk about except, if you have Jackson and Williams on the floor together,
its like ringing the dinner bell to a bunch of wolves. Rating 6.0/10.0
- Power Forwards: J. Williams, J. Caffey: Williams is a
monster. If there was anything wrong with his shooting, its the fact that he
doesn't shoot that much. Teams will try to avoid the dunks by putting
Williams to the line. Caffey is a very good sub, but suffers the same phobia
as Williams at the line. Rating
7.0/10.0
- Centers: V. Divac, B. Reeves: Divac is a fine center. Solid
stats all the way around. He is a player that gives this team some identity.
Reeves helps clog up the middle but is a backup at the most. Rating
7.5/10.0
- Bench: Shane has a well balanced team. Overall
team shooting is above average. This may be the only team in the league that
could win games with their bench. The biggest problem is that it is hard to
separate the starters from the backups. Rating
7.5/10.0
- Management: Shane is entering his 2nd season and
did a great job last year. If the GLBA had a coach of the year, Shane would
have won it in a landslide. He took a team of no names to the playoffs and
surprised everyone. He submits manager profiles every day and is on-line
almost 24x7. He expresses his opinions to the entire league and he makes
trades with anybody. Now that's participation!. If there was an owner I
needed to get any team in the playoffs, Shane would be that owner. It is
uncertain whether Shane loves basketball, loves the GLBA, or has nothing
better to do with his time. But there is one thing for sure. Shane is one
the of best owners the GLBA has ever had. Rating:
