2000-01 North Shore Vikings
- Point Guards: M. Blaylock, D. Stoudamire, S. Francis: This 3 headed monster provides depth not seen on any other team. Any of these 3 could start and do a good job. Here are some drawbacks; Blaylock shoots .391 from the floor and Francis has an amazing 306 turnovers. "Mighty Mouse" maybe the best of the three with no glaring weakness.
Rating: 7.5/10.0
- Shooting Guards: S. Smith, J. Hornacek: Two of the best true SG's in the game. They complement each other very well. Shooting wise they are way above the average and they both have plenty of minutes. This will be Hornacek's last year. Will the Vikings make it a championship year?
Rating 7.5/10.0
- Small Forwards: J. Mashburn, K. Thomas: Mashburn is another player who has no glaring weakness. Mashburn's defense is about average. Thomas is a
serviceable backup that will be able to rebound. Thomas's shooting percentage is not very good, which might be a factor given the fact that North Shore is very week at the SF position.
Rating 5.5/10.0
- Power Forwards: K. Malone, K. Van Horn: The self proclaimed MVP did not disappoint last year. He shot over 50% again and is strong on the boards. Defense is also strong. Although Van Horn doesn't have the defense as Malone, he can still create match up problems for the opposing player. The Vikings again have a position that multiple players can start on any team.
Rating 8.0/10.0
- Centers: P. Ewing, J. Amaechi: Ewing's stats are down because of injury problems. But he still averaged 15pts per game. If Ewing doesn't survive the banging under the basket, the Vikings have acquired the services of an undersized C in Amaehci. His defense is ok, but his rebounding is horrible for the position he plays. Look for Karl to see some minutes here if the team stalls at this position.
Rating 5.5/10.0
- Bench: The Vikings are 3 deep in every position and has 3 people playing backup that could start on any team in the league. Overall, this team has excellent depth, except for SF, and should challenge for the title.
Rating 7.0/10.0
- Management: Andre is an original owner who has proven his worth throughout the years. He has built his team around Malone and Ewing and is in contention every year. Although he is not online as much as us lifers, he is always aware of the status of the team and particpates quite frequently. I expect Andre to have continued success in the GLBA.
