2000-01 Toledo Rockets
- Point Guards: S. Marbury, C. Atkins: Cry baby #1, Marbury
leads this team in almost every offensive category. This might be a bad
thing with all the good defensive PG's With 270 turnovers, it seems Marbury
will have the ball in his hands all the time. Atkins should do see some
playing time here and at SG. Defense is the same as Marbury. Rating:
6.5/10.0
- Shooting Guards: A. Hardaway, D. Curry: Cry baby #2,
Hardaway, should help Marbury put some points on the board. Injuries slowed
Hardaway down again this year. Curry lost his shooting touch last year and
his numbers reflect that. Toledo can play Atkins and Rose here as well, but
both of those guys are not typical SG's. Rating 6.0/10.0
- Small Forwards: J. Rose, C. Williamson: Rose finally busted
out to be a star. He is another scoring threat. The biggest difference
between him and Marbury or Hardaway, is that Rose will make the important
shots. The other 2 will just shoot. Rose will win some games for Toledo.
Rose had to give up something to get the offense and that is the defense.
Williamson is a sometimes forgotten player with great ability and numbers.
Rating 8.5/10.0
- Power Forwards: D. Nowitzki, M. Bullard: Nowitzki was a pleasant
pick up last year and turned out to be a pretty decent player. He will hold
his own against must power forwards. Bullard is at best a backup. Lets hope
Dave uses other options here. Rating
6.5/10.0
- Centers: S. Bradley, K. Cato: If Bradley wasn't hurt every
year, he would be a dominating center in this league. He has the touch from
the field and the defense to intimidate anyone. Cato adds an impressive
formula of stats and defense. I'm afraid minutes will be the main factor in
defending these two . Rating
7.0/10.0
- Bench: Last year, Toledo had problems fielding a
team. This year is better, but they are still pretty low across the board.
They are light at PG but have options at all the other positions. Rating
4.0/10.0
- Management: Dave joined us a couple of years ago
and is slowly constructing a formable team. He's been a little missing in
action this year but it is obvious he is monitoring his team. This year is
very important that he watch his team very closely or else he will run out
of minutes again and it will be a long season for Toledo. If Dave sticks to
his plan, he will have a playoff bound team next year. Dave seems to be
excited to play in this league, which is always a welcomed
sight. Rating:
7.0/10.0
- Total rating: 45.5/70.0
- Predicted Record and Finish: 36-36, 3rd Place
